Are you thinking of purchasing doves to release on your own?  Please read the following:

Pet Shop Ringneck Doves:  The doves from the pet store (pictured above) are bred in captivity and have not been taught by their parents to survive in the wild.  After you release them, they will likely fly to a nearby tree or roof top and will most possibly perish from thirst, starvation, predators, etc.

Purchasing Your Own Release Birds:  Those who seriously care about the safety and wellness of the birds will never offer birds for purchase that you can release at your event yourself.  Most often, their fate will be that of the domestic ringneck doves:  thirst, starvation, predators, etc.  If they are fortunate enough to survive for a time, you may also be contributing to the wayward pigeon population menacing public buildings and statuaries.  Please make the ethical choice...

Our Doves:  Release doves used by professionals are pure white homing pigeons, which are also known as Rock Doves. There are factual and linguistic aspects regarding why the pure white homing pigeons are referred to as “doves.” In Spanish, the words “dove” and “pigeon” are synonymously referred to (“paloma”), as is the case with Portuguese (“pombo”), German (“taube”), Dutch (“duif”), Korean and Greek.

Inter-culturally, when referring to dove releases, the term has become internationally recognized to mean that “pure white homing pigeons” will be released.

Our particular strains of these homers have been carefully bred by amongst the best white homing pigeon breeders in the United States.  They have been very carefully raised, and animal husbandry ethics have been carefully implemented.  They are bred specifically for releases, with a focus on maintaining a keen homing instinct and not just their pure white appearance.

Our white doves have been through months of careful and extensive training.  Every measure has been taken to ensure that these birds are well-cared-for and well-managed in every way possible.  We have worked very hard with these precious white birds in order to insure we can make your special day exceptional!

We embrace and employ the ethical standards established by the WHITE DOVE RELEASE PROFESSIONALS. There are many, many dove listings out there on the internet -- but the WDRP is the ONLY group that screens it's applicants to ensure that members are top-notch professionals in the business, and that their care and practices with the birds are of the highest ethical standards.
